Support your library with a gift to purchase book collections and other  services. The cost of maintaining the library's excellent services is a continuing challenge as revenue sources decline while the cost of books and DVDs increases.
Youth Art Explosion Contest
Library of the Future

 

The Youth Art Explosion Contest is an Art Show that will run March 8th - March 27th. Draw or paint a picture that reflects the theme "Library of the Future" to win an exciting prize!
Artwork accepted NOW - March 6th
Artwork on Display March 1st - March 13th
Final 3 in each category on display March 15 - 19th
Submit your artwork in your grade category and see your work displayed in the library. During the week of March 15-19th the best 3 in each category will square off, with patrons voting their choices
Winners announced March 20th, 11am - 1pm. 
Winter Reading Program
Adults
 
The Winter Reading Program has begun!
Registration starts January 4th until January 25th. Come in, call 708/749-1050 ext 120 or email your name and library card number to CottonaroS@sfvpld.org to register. The Reading Program runs from January 18th until March 27th. Read 5 books for an entry into the drawing. You can fill out an additional entry card for every title you read beyond the fifth one. The more books you read - the more chances you have to win! We will be accepting entries until March 27th. 

Read To Succeed - Winter Reading Program
Youth Services
The Stickney - Forest View Public Library District Youth Service Department will begin the annual Winter Reading Program entitled READ TO SUCCEED from January 18, 2010 through April 4, 2010. Patrons may sign up in the Youth Service area during regular library hours. There will be prizes awarded at the end of the program during National Library Week in April.  *THE CHICAGO WOLVES PRO HOCKEY TEAM is the sponsor of the winter program and dontates many of the prizes.
